About

Mr. Coleman began his career as an Assistant District Attorney for the State of North Carolina where he successfully prosecuted thousands of criminal cases ranging from Impaired Driving Offenses to First Degree Murder. As former Chief District Court Assistant District Attorney in Wilmington, DWI Court Prosecutor, and Felony Motor Vehicle Prosecutor, he trained many of our local Assistant District Attorneys and law enforcement officers in the prosecution of impaired driving offenses as well as vehicular homicides.

After leaving the Attorneys Office, John joined the law firm of Burney, Burney, and Jones where he went on to make partner at the then formed Burney, Jones, and Coleman. In 2015, Mr. and Mrs. Coleman joined forces and created Whitley Coleman. Mr. Coleman enjoys public service and is the former Chairman of the Carolina Beach Police Advisory Committee.

In his spare time, John is an avid motorcyclist and enjoys spending time with his family.
